Product Review: Argan Wear Physician's Formula BB Cream Swatch, Before & After Pics

I love face makeup, so I like to try a lot of different foundations as well as BB and CC creams. There are so many options available when it comes to face makeup, so I will review some of the face makeup that I own for you all. For the first BB cream review, I thought Physician's Formula would be great to start with since it is well-known, more natural makeup, and it is available in the drugstore at a low price. The Physician's Formula BB cream that I will review today is the Argan Wear BB Cream.

Argan Wear Physician's Formula BB Cream

This BB cream is made with:

  1. Castor Oil
  2. Shea Butter
  3. Argan Oil
  4. Willow Bark Extract
  5. Glycerin
Along with many other ingredients.

This BB cream has SPF 30
Cost: Around $9 - $10
Amount of product: 1.2 oz, 35 ml
It has no perfume scent
It is gluten-free and paraben-free

There are only two shades:
A. Light                 B. Light Medium

I purchased the darkest shade, which is light medium. Here is a swatch of this shade:

Review & Wear Test

I did a wear test for this BB cream. I wore this BB cream for over six hours and I wore it several days in a row. I found this BB cream to be really light/ white on the skin when taking pictures with a flash, so there is flashback. In normal lighting when you are not taking pictures with a flash though, it does appear to match your skin color. Since it only comes in two light shades, I don't feel this BB cream is for brown skinned lades or women of color.

This is how this BB cream looked on my skin:

I put my hand in the picture so that you can see just how white this BB cream looks on tan skin when you use the flash.

Coverage: This BB cream does cover well, and you can layer it for more coverage. When I layered it, I couldn't get full coverage, but I was able to get medium coverage. Since the coverage is good, you can wear this BB cream instead of foundation on lighter makeup days.

Blending: I don't feel that this BB cream blends/absorbs into the skin; it seemed to just sit on top of my skin because whenever I touched my face, the BB cream would come off in that area. This is both good and bad. It is good because you don't have to worry about this BB cream clogging your pores so much, but this is also bad because it will make your face makeup come off in some areas, which will make your makeup look bad.

Wear Test: After wearing this BB cream for a few hours, I did notice that it started to break down and look oily, so you will need to refresh it through the day. I recommend reapplying it to the areas where it wore off, and powder it to get rid of the oiliness. Powdering it may also stop the BB cream from coming off when you touch your face, so I recommend applying powder on top of this BB cream as part of your routine.

Long-Lasting: This BB cream did stay on my skin all day in the areas where I did not touch my face.

Lines: It did settle into the lines under my eyes, but it was barely noticeable; I felt that it was not noticeable enough for it to bother me, but since it did settle a little there, I do recommend keeping it away from the under eye area.

Since the formula for this BB cream is quite moisturizing, I think that is why it did not settle as much in the under eye area as many other BB creams and foundations do. Another good thing about this BB cream is that it did not settle into any other lines on my face, such as my smile lines, so I do think this is a good BB cream.

Texture: It looks thick on the skin, but once I smoothed it out on my face, it didn't feel heavy on my skin. When rubbing the BB cream between my fingers, it did feel oily on my fingers, but on the skin, it did not look oily until after a few hours of wear.

Lastly, make sure you shake this BB cream before you apply it to your skin because if you don't, this BB cream will come out as a clear oil. Shaking it will mix everything together.

Final Thoughts: I love the Physician's Formula BB Creams, and they are one of my favorite BB cream brands, so I have at least five of them. This one is not my favorite since it does not have any dark or tan shades like the other Physician's Formula BB Creams do, but I do still like this BB cream since it has good coverage and it does appear to match my skin color in normal lighting.

Have you tried a Physician's Formula BB cream before? Which is your favorite?
