Product Review: Mary Kay Mineral Eyeshadows - Black Ice Eyeshadow Palette
Good day everyone! Today I am going to review one of the Mary Kay eyeshadow palettes that a friend of mine, who is a Mary Kay consultant, sent me for free to test out. The eyeshadow palette that I will be reviewing today is the Mary Kay Black Ice eyeshadow palette.
The Mary Kay eyeshadows cost $8 each. They are made in Canada, and they are mineral eyeshadows. This palette, the Black Ice palette, is great for creating a smokey eye, as well as for fall and winter makeup looks.
Color: The Black Ice eyeshadow palette comes with four colors: A lighter brown shade; a white shade to use in the inner corners of the eye or under the brows; a black shade that is not the blackest black, but it is more of a lighter charcoal black color; the last shade is a silver shade, which is my personal favorite out of all the colors.
All of the shades have a lot of shimmer, except for the black shade. The black shade has some shimmer, a little bit, but not nearly as much as the other shades.
Pigmentation: All the colors are very pigmented on their own, so you can wear them with or without an eye primer. You will need to layer these eyeshadows though in order to get the most pigmentation possible.
Long-Lasting: The eyeshadows last on my eyes all day, even without an eye primer.
Texture: The brown, white, and silver shades feel very soft to the touch, so they go on the eye very smoothly and easily. The black shade though is rougher in texture; it is not soft like the other shades, but it is not rough enough to pull or tug on the eye either. It still applies fairly easily, but it will be a bit more work to blend and smooth out.
Packaging: These eyeshadows come in a pan that is not magnetic and the eyeshadows are not glued to the package, so make sure you don't turn the eyeshadows upside down because they will fall out. So, make sure you put them in a magnetic eyeshadow palette or keep them upwards.
