Nail Polish Review: L.A. Colors Color Craze Gel-Like Polish

I recently have discovered shopping for cheap inexpensive nail polish at Claire's and Five Below stores. I tried several of their nail polishes and loved them so much; the quality is so good. Their polishes dried fast, are good quality, and they have a huge color range to choose from, from matte, neon, to glitter polishes. So, I went back and got several more nail polishes from these two stores. So today, I will swatch and review two of the L.A. Colors Color Craze Gel-Like nail polishes that I purchased from Five Below for you. The first color I will start with is called Envy.

1. L.A. Colors Color Craze Gel-Like Polish In Envy

This is a high shine deep sea-green nail polish with flecks of glitter in it.

This nail polish does not have a watery formula and it is not streaky; it also went on easily/was very smooth and easy to apply, and it dried fast, which is something I always look for in a good quality nail polish. I did need to apply two coats of this polish in order to get the kind of full pigmentation, opacity that I wanted. Here is how this polish looked on my nails without a top coat:

2. L.A. Colors Color Craze Gel-Like Polish In Rockin' It

This nail polish is a pastel light green color that is perfect for summer and spring 💐. It has a lot of shine, but no flecks of glitter like the previous shade does.

I do not know what it is about this color, but I absolutely love it. This color just looks so good on my skin tone, so I wear it a lot. Like the previous color, it also dries fast, but there are a few negatives/issues with this polish. The first is that the formula is watery and it can be streaky if you do not apply enough of the polish. The watery formula makes it harder to apply and it can make your manicure look less neat and perfect; it also makes it move around more so it can easily get on the sides of your nails on the skin there. So, though I wear this color often, my nails do not look good until the second day when the polish seems to even out. Here is what this polish looks like on my nails:

Lastly, I do not recommend this nail polish for people with peeling nails, because though some polishes will cover up peeling or problem nails, this one will not. I recently hurt the thumb on my right hand, so some of the nail on there peeled off, and this polish showed that imperfection, so it will settle into problem areas on your nails. You can see this here:

I wore these polishes for four days without a top coat to see how well they would hold up. In my opinion, you can really tell the quality of a nail polish by how well it holds up without a top coat. This is how these polishes looked after four days of wear:

There was definitely chipping as the days passed, but overall, I felt that these polishes held up pretty well without a top coat. If they held up this well without a top coat, then your manicure should last at least 5-7 days with a top coat, which is pretty good in my opinion 😉

Final Thoughts: I love both of these nail polishes, but the Envy shade is definitely easier to use and it is easier to get a more smooth, perfect finish, so I think this is a great polish for beginners or people who are just getting into nail polish. The Rockin' It shade is unique and really stands out, but it is harder to use, perfect, and apply, so I think many nail polish lovers would not like this polish. Both polishes are great though for those who want a gel-like manicure without the hassle or health risks associated with using a UV light to curate the polish. Furthermore, these polishes are great summer and spring shades 💮. The Envy shade could even be worn during the Christmas holiday 🎅. So though the Rockin' It shade would not suit many people, I still do recommend trying the Envy shade ♡
